Teens August Wheel Week
August 11th - 14th (Mon-Thurs) & August 21st (Thurs)
5 days of creativity on the potter’s wheel, for teens ages 13-16.
Taught by the talented Amelie Drewitz/Alana McDowell. Teens will come together in the mornings during the first week to learn the basics of making forms on the wheel including cups and bowls and other fun forms. Students will also learn how to trim, decorate, attach handles, and glaze their wheel thrown works. This summer camp is beginner friendly for those new to throwing on the wheel or working with clay, as well as suitable for returning students looking to refine and build upon skills by throwing larger or more complex forms.
Dates/times:
August 11-14th (Monday - Thursday): 10 am-12:30 pm
August 21st (Thursday): 4:30-6:30 pm
The first 3 classes will focus on throwing on the wheel, 4th class will be for surface decoration, trimming and attaching handles, and the 5th class (held on August 21st at 4:30 pm) will be dedicated to glazing the work from the previous week (as we need time to dry and fire the pieces before applying glaze).
6 participants maximum, 4 participants minimum to run the class (we reserve the right to cancel and offer full refunds under these circumstances, due to low enrollement).
Materials, tools, and aprons provided.
Missed Classes Policy & Cancellation Policy:
Please ensure you can commit to the entire class sequence at the time of purchasing. Makeup classes are not available. Please review the FAQ/Policy Page on our website for full details as cancellation policies apply.
